Hey everyone! My name is Jess MacIver, and I have just completed my bachelor's degree in Anthropology & Archaeology from UVic. This May, I am heading to South Africa to work with Ukulapha Community Outreach Project, an organization that focuses on community engagement through work in the township school; for my placement I will be helping out in the classroom and organizing and running camps for the young girls during school breaks! I am passionate about cross-cultural childhood learning and community narratives, so I am very grateful to CAPI, QES, and Ukulapha for this opportunity! I will be using this blog to document my thoughts and experiences during my 6 months in South Africa - thanks for following along!
