Hello!
I am heading to Cape Town, South Africa in the next couple weeks to volunteer for the African Institute of Mathematics and Sciences School Enrichment Centre (AIMSSEC). During my time in South Africa, I am aiding in the development of resources for short learning courses designed to improve the quality of teaching in South Africa. I am extremely excited for this oppritunity and to become immersed in the local community. Further, being apart of the small yet diverse team at AIMSSEC will provide plently unique oppritunities including travelling to rural schools around the country with efforts to improve the quality of teaching. I am looking forward to the people I will meet along the way that will make this trip an unforgettable experience; I will be sharing my challenges, successes and failures along the way, so stay posted for future blogs!
